Hello

What lovely weather we are having here in East Kent. On Monday we will be inside a large studio where there are many weather systems. This studio, the Jarman Studio 1, is located at the University of Kent and at 2 pm we will open a little box containing these weather systems and much much more. The box, it has to be said is actually a luggage case made of leather sometime during the mid 1940’s. For the briefest on moments we might find some other place where you and I have met before as someone completely different. We might then forget ourselves when we leave to continue whatever it  is we do outside that studio. Fancy a peek? Do join us

Hello good evening and welcome to Canterbury. Tonight Canterbury will be putting on quite an act involving medieval monks,  a proposed one way system and a potential day trip to somewhere in France. At night Canterbury is orange. By day Canterbury is blue with a hint of green. It smells everywhere and the cakes are brilliant. Come to Canterbury and buy an I Love London T shirt or pop into the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge for some stuffed birds, people wearing orange and revolving art in the front room.

Also if you are in town, come and find us up the hill. We went to fetch a pale of water but decided to put on a show dedicated to your other self at the Jarman Studion number 1 at the University of Kent. We can confirm you are having a whale of a time, so much so that we might have to crack open another packet of biscuits. Join us at 2 pm on the 19th live and live streamed http://www.specialguests.org.uk

failing that here’s a picture of a Monk…

Letters to your Host

Dear Host , where might I go on holiday in East Kent, UK?

Thanks for your message Brian. As it happens I am currently enjoying a half week trip to Sandwich, Kent, a lovely medieval town on the river stour. Every third Tuesday in every other month the market square transforms itself back to 1397 , three years before Chaucer’s death. It’s a little known fact Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales would have been called Sandwich Tales if  his characters had ever reached  Sandwich. Anyway I managed to take this snap of the Market place before it changed back.

see you on the 19th at University of Kent Jarman Studio 1 for our Free Gameshow where you are invited to find your other self

in the other here and now. Do join us at 2pm sharp.image

A Good Deal

image

Deal, Kent is where Game of Thrones is set. We saw Sean Bean playing the one armed bandits along the sea front during his lunch hour. Sean’s cherry slush is to die for but we would always recommend trying his ices and pop too.

see you on the 19th at University of Kent Jarman Studio 1 for our free event where you get to journey to other not yet imagined destinations. #canterbury #specialguestsalternativerealityshow

London

imageLondinium came from a small boat out of which jumped an idea or three. These ideas slipped by most eyes and ears and settled somewhere between the clods of earth where Spitalfields now resides. Some one added a bit of tomato sauce and a sprinkle of cracked pepper and behold, a mega city bottled and preserved in a pickling agent. This bottle traveled from puddle to puddle until it found Joe’s Mexican ice cream stand across the way from Pall Mall barbers where it sat around for a short while until it popped its cork letting out a fizz of fortune to the usurping London pretenders. These initial ideas now live in West Hampstead and can often be seen eating glorified chips and gourmet burgers on a street bench outside the cricket ground. Your Host invites you to give them a nudge or two…
